Photos on MSN TV

In this issue: Sharing photos, Viewing others' photos

I admit it: I'm a sucker for photos that I can hold in my hand or display on my desk, and I don't plan to trade in my 35 mm camera for a digital one anytime soon. However, I do love being able to look at and share pictures online — it's fast, fun and easy. Here are a few ways you can enjoy pictures online with MSN TV.

Sharing your own photos
There are two ways you can share your own pictures online using MSN TV: on a Web page and in e-mail.

You can post photos on a Web page and invite your friends and family to check them out by visiting your page. You can also add captions to the pictures to make your online "album" even more personal. To put photos on a Web page, you'll first want to create a page using Page Builder, MSN TV's easy-to-use page-making tool. For help using Page Builder, choose this link:

Once you've created a Web page, you can add photos to it from e-mail messages, an e-scanner, or from your Scrapbook. MSN TV's Help offers step-by-step instructions on each of these methods:

When you're ready to share your online album with your family and friends, simply e-mail them the Web address (URL) of your Web page. They can visit the page and check out your photos anytime.

You can also share pictures by sending them in e-mail. Choose this link for instructions on attaching photos to e-mail messages:

Viewing others' photos
Want to check out pictures your friends and family have put online? No problem! There are several Web sites out there that let PC users create online albums and share them with others. Once someone creates an online album, he or she can invite anyone to view it. Here are a few sites to check out:

  • Snapfish.com

  • Shutterfly.com

  • Web-a-photo.com

  • Picturetrail.com

  • Fotki.com

Some of these sites let you search for online albums without an invitation, but most require an invitation from the person who created the album before you can view them. Look for the Help or How-To section of each site for specific instructions.

So you see, even if you're not ready to get rid of the photo albums on your coffee table or the special pictures you've got framed on the wall, I think you'll find as I have, that online photo albums are another great way to share memories.
